Established in the year 2000, the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF) is an intergovernmental platform for the sustainable management, protection, and development of all forests. Within this framework, Country-led Initiatives (CLI) are international meetings voluntarily undertaken by member countries to contribute to the global forest agenda. Türkiye, in collaboration with the UNFF Secretariat and FAO, will host a CLI meeting in İstanbul from 20 to 22 October 2025. This initiative, which will continue over a two-year period, will provide a platform for sharing experiences and developing policies in the context of combating forest fires, innovative approaches, sustainable forest management, and climate change. The event will feature a High-Level Dialogue and four thematic focus sessions, followed by a field trip. All documents and information related to the CLI process will be accessible through the following link: |
